Awakened Spirits Comic Book with Capital Region Advertising Federation Silver ADDY Award and Awakened Spirit Bottle

WE'RE AWARD-WINNING!

In 2025, our team partnered with Albany Distilling Co., Mohawk Paper, and talented creatives to produce the Awakened Spirits comic book, a clever marketing piece for the Distilling Co.’s new vodka with coffee.

A finalist at the Capital Region Advertising Federation’s (CRAF) 2025 American Advertising Awards, Awakened Spirits won a Silver ADDY Award and was selected as one of only five “Judges' Picks” for the evening.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • All print files should be saved as a print-quality or high-resolution PDF format, with the document color mode in CMYK. Please include crop and bleed marks. If any elements of your design touch the edge of the document (a bleed), please incorporate an eighth of an inch bleed around all sides to ensure clean edges during the trimming process.

You can also refer to our DXP File Prep Guide for more detailed specifications. If you’re unsure about how to set your file up, our team would be happy to help you!

  • Whatever you need, our award-winning creative team is here to assist with anything from pre-flighting/adjusting submitted design files, to creating original logos, print collateral, websites, large format materials, and more. Simply contact creative@dxp1.com to get a kickoff call or meeting scheduled.

  • For variable print projects, we require three elements:

    1. A print-ready Adobe InDesign or Illustrator file with placeholders for the variable elements clearly marked (ex: <<First Name>><<Last Name>>). Placeholders should be designed for extremes — ie. BOTH the longest and the shortest names or addresses. We also need your font specifications (sizes, colors, and the .otf or .ttf files) and any rules for handling elements like barcodes or QR codes.

    2. A database spreadsheet saved as a .csv or .xlsx file. Each placeholder element must have a corresponding column header, and every element should have its own column, including the First Name, Last Name, Street Address, City, Zip, State, etc. For pieces with variable images, we need a folder with all of the different images. They should all be high resolution (300 dpi or greater), CMYK color mode, and sized to the same dimensions.

    3. A document with specific rules for how the design file and the database should be merged. Please also include any specific rules or requests for how elements such as QR or barcodes should be handled.

  • Yes! Depending on the size of the print run and other factors, we have a range of specialty print options such as spot color, metallic inks, UV coatings, custom die cuts, scented ink, and glue bindings with color additives — just to name a few! Speak with your DXP print rep to learn more about what’s available for your project.

  • Turnaround time can vary due to several different factors such as press schedule, page count, binding, quantity, mailing requirements, and your scheduling needs.

For smaller projects such as trifold brochures or postcards, 5-7 business days from proof approval is standard, while print projects with complex finishing needs often require more time, ranging from 7-14 days. Large Format prints, such as retractable banners or signage, tend to be a quicker turn of just a few days.

When you speak with your DXP partner about your project, they’ll help determine an ideal in-hands date.

  • Absolutely! We are used to handling requests for multiple components — either for the same client, or for the same project. Many clients work with us to print conference or event materials ranging from posters and retractable banners to registration brochures and name badges — all with the same in-hands date. For this type of work, our customer service team can coordinate having everything produced and ready for pickup or delivery together.

  • We offer pickup at our print facility in Albany, as well as local delivery, and shipping. Your print rep can help tailor the best option for your project and will coordinate logistics with you when your job is complete and ready for pickup, delivery or shipping.

  • We can help customers who mail large volume take advantage of postal discounts based on volume/mail growth, sustainability and more. We recommend speaking to your DXP print rep to discuss your options and to obtain the best postal rates based on your print specs.
